Farzanah Chowdhury becomes Independent Director of DESCO

Our very own dynamic and visionary leader, MD & CEO of Green Delta Insurance PLC. – Farzanah Chowdhury, has been appointed as an Independent Director to the DESCO Board recently. DESCO is a public-listed company under the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources.

Besides being a chartered insurer, Ms. Chowdhury comes with vast experience and proven expertise in the insurance, banking, financial, microfinance, SME and healthcare management industries. Some of her accomplishments include, launching of Nibedita insurance – the first ever comprehensive insurance scheme for women, working as the insurer of Shastho Shuroksha Karmasuchi (SSK) project with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, being recognized as a Local SDG Pioneer in 2016 for Women’s Economic Security. In addition, Farzanah and her robust team at Green Delta have earned many national and international awards during her continuing tenure as the MD & CEO of Green Delta Insurance since she took the helm in 2013.
