Our dynamic and visionary leader, MD & CEO of Green Delta Insurance PLC. – Farzanah Chowdhury, has recently been elected as a Member of Executive Committee of Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA). For the very first time, out of 73 eligible voters, 53 participated in voting to elect 20 executive committee members. Among them, 10 representatives from the non-life insurance sector were elected, while 10 more representatives from the life insurance sector were elected unopposed.

The BIA serves as the apex body for privately-owned life and non-life insurance companies in Bangladesh. The BIA announced the results in a circular on Sunday. The election was conducted in the presence of Mir Nasir Hossain, Chairman of the BIA Election Board, at the association’s office in Dhaka on Sunday.

Sayeed Ahmed, Chairman of Global Insurance, has been elected president of the executive committee of the Bangladesh Insurance Association (BIA) for the 2025-2026 term. Delta Life Insurance Director, Ms Adeeba Rahman, was elected as the first vice president of BIA, while Agrani Insurance Chairman, Quazi Sakhawat Hossain Lintoo, was elected as Vice President.

Voting for the BIA’s Executive Committee member election for the 2025-2026 term was completed a day earlier, on Saturday (February 22).
